What if we legalise corruption?

Corruption, fraud and bribery are now familiar terms in this world of capitalism. Term corruption is mainly used to describe fraud, bribery etc. at the end of the day, one wonders on the real meaning of the word corruption.

The rise of corruption behaviours has led to various definitions. It can be described as the use of public office for private gain. It is an outcome or consequences of weak or bad leadership.
Mathematical formula for corruption is: (nepotism + selfishness) – (accountability + transparency) = corruption.

Who is clean enough to fight corruption? Are you clean enough to fight corruption? Imagine you are in a car garage, in church or pub, you come across a bunch of money laying on the floor, no one saw you therefore there is no evidence that you’re the one picked bunch un easy to count amount of money.
What could you do? Could you report the money to the police and try to search the owner? Possibly you will mute and keep the money?

But what if you come to realise that when you picked the money there was automatic cameras which may be reviewed, recording all actions? Of course, you could pretend to be clean and report the money, or you could look at the money and pretend to not see it while abusing automatic camera founders for making you loose such a big deal.

Very few of us can be trustful and take a big step of reporting the money. Others we would thank God for answering our prayers and run away with the money to the near by supermarket and not to the bank. That is a problem with free money.

There is a story of a robber who robbed a lady’s bag, at his back there comes a police man, locates his gun on the robber’s neck, the robbed bag is dropped down and the lady takes her bag, the police man realises that, the threatened robber is long time lost friend of his, they fall into laughter while hugging and shouting.

The lady runs to the nearby police station to report the incident, that police man and his friend, a robber are taken to court. The judge enters in a courtroom, he forgets all court morals, and starts shouting raised up his arms to hug the accused police man and a robber for they are his early school lost friend how good to meet them!.

This story is similar to the current world situation where many of us are showing their hypocrisy that they hate corruption.
The World Bank is among main institutions proving to hate corruption in this world. I doubt if the world Bank’s staff are subjected for corruption scanning, can by any way prove to be innocent since it is very recent when the former president of the bank, James Wolfowitz was convicted for some kind of a sex corruption by offering higher payments to his concubine.

Before conviction, the president proved to be number one of corruption disgusted leaders. The very same man, moving around the world to fight corruption.

In Tanzania, the former prime minister was forced to resign for corruption scandal. up to now no any applied effort from him to prove that he is not guilty but keeping quiet even if he was ahead in the war against corruption according to some speaches. whom are we cheating guys?

So who is eligible for fighting corruption?
Why don’t we legalise corruption? Of course if we legalise it, we will loose our friends’ way of assuring their families a bread of a day, since many bodies pretending to combat corruption are developed. But we will also eliminate hypocrisy. Lets legalise corruption please and reduce over heads.

Hey Kamala, are you sure you

Hey Kamala, are you sure you want to "legalize" corruption, whatever that means? What you have to see is that in the western countries and other developing countries outside Africa seem to have the situation under control, even if there is some sort of corruption all around the world, their leadership has improved the situation from time to time. But Africa, everything is different, it gets worse every year... so how do you suggest to legalize corruption, let everyone take whatever they can and let's all have a blind eye???

hey burek

think of fighting the same enemy all the time. it becomes painful when those who pretend to be ahead in hating corruption, are later convicted with the bigger corruption. refer to the south African chief of police , former Tanzania's prime minister and Bank Governor, some leaders like museveni of Uganda and Mwai kibaki-kenya who are corrupting constitution?
its like a pries raping a kid while he never marries ehe?

don't give up Kamala...

Hi Kamala, I say "don't give up" because I take it from your post that you're pretty fed-up with powerful people sucking the life out of our people. Everyday, it seems that some anti-corruption "hero" is found with his/her hand in the cookie jar. As frustrating as it may be, allowing corruption to continue would be the most devastating event in the history of the World. We can never permit corruption the same way we can never permit drug trafficking or slavery. Why? Because a world led by thieves and thugs (as it seems to be at times) with NO voice of morality... well... that's Hell on Earth. So stay strong Kamala, with strong minded people like you we will rid our nations of the corrupt mentality that plagues our collective futures and free us to effectively resolve our issues so that ALL Africans can live long, healthy, and prosperous lives!
