Rules and Membership Guidelines

Welcome to the Speak Africa Discussion Forums. We're pleased that you are joining us, or have joined us already.

We wish our Forums to bring a pleasurable experience and to remain as helpful as possible to its users. In order to maintain certain decorum, we expect civility in our, and as such, we have compiled these "Rules of conduct"

Remember that the following rules are applicable to everybody, you are among many other real people who use these forums, and as such, we expect you to participate within the guidelines of our rules detailed below.

Posting Rules

Speak Africa members will behave with civility and respect towards each other at all times. The Management will not tolerate personal attacks against any Members or Staff Members or their businesses.

• NO Advertising. Advertising will not be allowed on Speak Africa or via Private Message to Speak Africa Members. We have a strict policy that will result in advertisers being banned.

• No posting allowed of instructions or links on how to share or illegally download software or protected media files like songs, tv shows or movies. Such postings will be dealt with immediately and could lead to a banning from Speak Africa.

• Be respectful towards other Speak Africa members regardless of their level of comprehension of the subject at hand.

• Post your question in one thread only. If it is not in the proper forum an Advisor or Team Leader will move it. "Double-posting" will only result in the second post being deleted.

• Do not attempt to hack these forums or attempt to gain access to any other Members account.

• No profanity. While profanity, when used properly, is an effective way of conveying emotion and/or thoughts, when abused it can be detrimental and offensive. Please keep in mind that we do have young people and people from all areas browsing these forums. Therefore, no profanity should be used. If used, it will be removed and considered a violation of these rules.

• Do not wander off-topic. Posts in a particular forum need try and stay on topic. If you want to talk about something that is drastically removed from the topic of a forum, please take it to another, correct topic.

• Do not post Affiliate/Referral Links. Affiliate links give posters an unfair advantage over others. As well, affiliate links may lead to false representation simply in the effort to gain a lead or referral. Therefore, Affiliate links will be modified or deleted. No unsolicited advertising will be tolerated. This includes all 'classified ads' or promotions.

• Do not challenge the authority of any member of the Staff

Username Policy

• No domain names in usernames

• No advertising in username, eg. Free_Windows_Hosting
• No profanity in usernames

If your present username is in violation of the above, please contact a staff member who can amend it ASAP.

Spam Policy

Individuals who abuse the website by selfishly sending out private message spam to members or posting spam communications on the Forums will be immediately dealt with.

Editorial Policy

Moderators and Administrators are in complete control here. They are the management, and as such have the full authority to edit or remove any post without warning. Moderator and Admin decisions are final.

Violation of the Rules

Should you break the rules, you will lose your status as a member here. Your login will be disabled and you will be banned from the Forums.

Revision of the Rules

We reserve the right to revise, remove or add to these Rules at any time and without prior notice. We will make every effort to announce changes to these Rules in the Forums.

PageRank and Link Seekers

There is no link popularity factor to be gained through your posts at Speak Africa. All threads (including links in signature file and member profile) at Speak Africa are processed through a redirect page and blocked by our robots.txt file.

Legal Disclosures

Under no circumstances will Speak Africa, nor any Administrator, Moderator, web site or business associated with any Administrator or Moderator be liable in any way for any content, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any post content or PM (Private Message), or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any content posted, transmitted or otherwise made available via the site.

Speak Africa takes no liability for the contents of emails and messages sent using our 'personal message' system.

You are held solely and personally responsible for what you post and for any repercussion of something you said or wrote that may have been out of line or damaging to a person, company's reputation, or any product or service. Please remember that if you should decide to unsubscribe, neither you, nor we can delete your posts.

If you feel threatened by another user or have concerns about a conversation, we ask that you try to work it out privately with the member, away from Speak Africa, so as not to ruin the experience of other guests.

By registering with Speak Africa you agree not to distribute any copyrighted materials of any sort. Anyone found to be in breach of this condition will have their account terminated with immediate effect and the appropriate authorities will be informed.

We reserve the right to modify these rules without prior notice at any time.
