TRAINED BY UNICEF

UNICEF Ghana in collaboration with Ghana Journalists Association organized a two day training seminar on ethical reporting on children at volta hotel in Akosombo.

Tamar Schrofer, the Chief of Advocacy Communication, Monitoring and Analysis section of Unicef Ghana in her opening remarks stressed on the significance role Journalists world-wide are playing to create a better democratic society and the need to reshape the course of Journalists working on children related issues by building their capacity.

The GJA General Secretary, Mr. Bright Blewu thanked UNICEF Ghana for their collaboration and urged participants to take good advantage of the opportunity granted.

Facilitators took participants through child rights and the media, UN CRC by UNICEF'S Ghana chief of child protection section, Mali Nilson, the international federation of Journalists’ guidelines and principles for reporting on issues involving children as well as UNICEF principal guidelines for the ethical reporting on children and young people less than 18 years of age.

The training had a good representation of youth Journalists and advocates which created an interactive platform for both the old and the young.
