Africa Needs Youth With Focus To Avoid Founding Fathers’ Blunders

Have you ever asked yourself on why the free Africa is still doing bad in development? Why does she not change this bitter situation with high speed needed? Where is the main problem and blunders?

When coming to reshaping our continent and solving our problems, I always believe we must start by first tracing where is the root course of the said problem so as to start solving it with successful results. Otherwise we shall remain complaining and doing the same thing all the time since the root cause is still un-uprooted.

Or beloved Africa started freedom movement in early 50s and now some nations have witnessed fifty years of their independence or so with little democracy, limping growth but with enough disease, corruption cases not to mention violence, ethnicity differences of all forms.

During struggle for independence, people were told to expect to fight for independence so as to eat independence fruits and not to expect to build their nations together or to expect facing a big challenge of developing their nations.

In fact the time came for the believed to be independence and now everyone expected to start taking a certain part of the fruits. No valid general plans for working to achieve goals instead people started to take whatever came in front of them something which increased corruptive behaviours, violence etc

if you ask any presidential or MP candidate on why does he/she contest for a certain post, the answer you will get is in things like, to reduce poverty, build schools, hospitals and bring better life for people. There he/she goes and after the phase is over, many stories are given as a report for the success reached while people are living in bad conditions compared the one they had before.

The problem is highly on the side of our redeemers or freedom fighters or former presidents who may be acquired power before clear plans and vision or without knowing clear on what they were forced to in be on power

Our governments retained colonial systems. Constitutions, laws and form of leadership were almost the same with those of colonial regime. Example Tanzania’s constitution vests a president bigger authority to the extent that he can do whatever he wants no matter what.

No vision between the citizens. Everyone is fighting for his/her stomach. This is a source of corruption. No long term and short term goals except to earn money in any way carelessly of the others’ lives. Leaders and citizens think of their own family and not the community’s development.

Former African dictators are said to have left much money in foreign countries while their people are suffering poverty. Think of a country like mine Tanzania where a prime minister was forced to resign for corruption scandal and governor of the central bank is expelled for the similar saga but none of them has been taken to court!

The problem might be the lack of vision and mission. People found themselves in power and that’s why we need youths with clear vision, passion and love to Africans. We need youths who can think big. Who won’t concentrate on building their own families but their communities, nations as well as Africa at large.

Get the picture of our current leaders. In East Africa we are in the move to forming a federation. The main issue in forming a federation is who will be the first president! Imagine my fellow young African that no any valid goal but the main issue is to set who is to sit at which chair!

Let’s get vision, mission and love for the continent’s changes and not to eat “uhuru” fruits only. dont get traped with fouders' weaknenesses

Poor Africa

It is really sad and painful, when we looked at ourselves in the mirror and we don't seems to see who we are and what we can do we only see our black image reflected by the mirror. The better Africans that were seeing themselves as Africans were called the beast and dictators as they where interested solely in the unification of Africa and the African people. Leaders like Nkrumah, Lumumba, were all victims of imperialism.

It is high time we as African's should rise and know who we are and what we can do and act before is too late. We can do it. So let’s unite to fulfill the dreams of our great heroes.

Can you anticipate to the fact that since independence Africa is still lacking behind and what do we call the independence of our states is it more poverty, malnutrition, abuses, and the father of all corruption.
Corruption does not belong here in Africa it was brought along by the colonial powers but we know it more than they do as it was created purposely to ruin us and we accepted it. Do we call ourselves fools or just victims?
Everyday they, determined what we should eat, wear and where we should sleep. Do we still have to be victims? NO.

I am appealing to all; let’s changed our attitudes and move forward. And support our course of political and economic liberation then we can be super power in every aspect.

think of Nyerere with Nkurumah's ideology.

saitmatty,
thanx for such a wonderful comment. here is where one can try to rethink on Nkurumah's idea of uniting africa, but Nyerere through his single party system idea, he rejected the great Idea. i think Nyerere feared to lose his post as a head of state.
Nkurumah was right for it was very easy to unite africa during independence time than any other. nyerere claimed that, africa will unity phase to phase. he pretended to pioneer it but abruptly failed to join the east african states and left Tanzania in a union with zanzibar, the union that is disturbing us day to day and it might either break up or end into bloodshed.
as you said, its time for us to find our new way of doing job. but it needs courage. remember the comrades you said above, died the questioning deaths. but still we shall make it, we have to do the job
